pediatric oncologists filed a letter of resignation

This was told to the correspondent of the Russian liberal radio channel "Echo of Moscow" by Anastasia Vasilyeva, chairman of the Alliance of Doctors inter-regional medical workers union in Russia.

The day before a video appeared on the Internet in which doctors demand the dismissal of a new director. 26 oncologists made a video message to President Putin. They talked about unsatisfactory conditions for sick children and an opaque salary distribution system. They demanded a change of leadership of the Blokhin Research Institute threatening otherwise to resignat.

Director of the Blokhin National Oncology Research Center Ivan Stilidi urged not to name the events as a conflict. He believes that this is a confrontation between a certain group of employees and the new administration.

Then there was information that the leadership of the Moscow Blokhin Research Institute of the Oncology Center began to reprimand doctors who threatened with dismissal. Oncologist Georgy Mentkevich informed the "MBH Media" about this. In particular, he said that he himself received a reprimand, and also found out that the presentation for reprimand was written out in relation to his colleague. According to Mentkevich, persecution of employees and pressure on the parents of patients began. Ivan Stilidi said that a commission of the Ministry of Health is currently working at the Research Institute.

Yesterday, the Kremlin expressed the hope that the Ministry of Health will understand the situation. The Ministry of Health in turn accused pediatric oncologists from the Blokhin Center of violating medical ethics. The department noted that a special commission should complete work by November 10th.
