Russian doctors wrote an open letter in protection of the defendants in the Moscow Criminal Case

Moscow Criminal Case

The text of the letter was published by journalist Katerina Gordeeva on her Facebook page. The letter refers to the injustices faced by physicians and “medical criminal cases”.

An open letter from representatives of Russian medicine has been signed by more than 500 specialists. Its authors believe that in Russia there has been a general crisis of the judicial system. The letter says that the “Moscow Criminal Case”, launched after the July 27 protest rally, also highlighted the medical situation, where their colleagues are arrested and tried for unproven charges.

“We understand that it is not enough to fight injustice against doctors, only participation in the general movement against violation of the law will help us achieve our goal: To return to our departments, operating rooms, ambulances and offices, do our favorite thing - treat patients,” it is said in the letter.

Doctors demand "to release the unjustly convicted, close the fabricated criminal cases and give an adequate assessment of the actions of those whose fault innocent people have suffered."

Earlier, associations of representatives from other fields came out in support of the defendants in the “Moscow Criminal Case”.
